Where Are We Now?

 Thanks, David.

This is a little update about where I'm at with my creative output and what I'll be doing from this point on.

The No-Update Update

I do still exist.

Hello.

I regret to admit I've made very little to share with you since my last update. There have been distractions. However, when not frittering the time away, I have been rewriting some manuscripts... I still have plans for the following, in order of preference:

Women of Power
Totopolis
Talmac the Syberbarian

They all want to be comics. I'll try to get them further along.

Also, thanks to reading Maurice Sendak's insightful collection of reviews and essays, Caldecott & Co., I have a new appreciation of the picture book. I've been reading quite a few (I like to stretch myself), so I might blog about what I encounter in place of progress on my own projects for the time being.

Thanks for checking in, I have missed you...

Adventures in Comics 2013

This morning I received in the post:

the newspaper catalogue for Adventures in Comics 2013!

I didn't make it to the exhibition, so I'm very grateful to all those at HKD and Marine Studios for putting this together. I'm enjoying reading through the submissions in almost spring-like sunshine. I should be under a tree...maybe if I put a coat on.

My two pages can be found here, but please check out the exhibition's page where you can see all the entrants. I fully encourage everyone to have a go next year! I also recommend taking a look at Paul Gravett's intro to the exhibition, in which he chooses a "best in show".

I really enjoyed at least two dozen of the comics, but I'll pick a few favourites: check out Edie O-P, Andy Poyiadgi, Spike Stephenson, Zara Slattery, Glynnis Fawkes, Kiki Kalahari and Kara Sievewright. There's plenty more there, dive in yourself. Lovely work!

Inauguration

Welcome to the inaugural post of this news blog, following a revamp of my website.

I intend to use this space for updates on my work, to post sketches and work-in-progress and to let you know where and when my work will be appearing.

Stay tuned for more soon!

Recently: I submitted a piece for exhibition in Adventures in Comics.

Also, does anyone know how I can get my blog header and blog description to the centre of the page? It's baffling me; if I have to code it I'll really need some help!
